It has support for tabs and several few browsing options which really make it stand out when compared to the default KDE reader, Akregator. This release fixes several bugs, like resetting the zoom on tab switch, exporting feeds crash and importing feeds failure. The latest version is 0.14.3, which was released on January 14, 2014. It’s written with the aid of the Qt toolkit and gives the user the ability to organize the feeds in a tree-like structure, use tags, change the feed fetching interval and a lot of more features which I’m going to talk about in this article. The size of each of those two imports was 25kb / 4lb respectively.QuiteRSS made a very good impression on me because of the handy features it comes with and the pleasing look. It doesn't have any of the other data that an rss feed should have.Īny idea why these feeds are coming in as folders except for 1 feed in each import is coming thru When i click on each of the dead folders that should contain an RSS feeds I click on properties and the data in there is the same as any folder in QRSS the General tab just has Title and boxes to Disable Update / Auto update / Disable on startup. I have another feed in Thunderbird it has none of those folders just 4 feeds under the main feed folder did same exported that imported to QRSS and basically same thing I ended up with 4 folders three dont open the 4th opens and the feed is in there with news stories. All the other folders are sealed they don't open and no RSS feeds.Number to the right is "0" indicating no stories in each one. Except for one - one folder I open has 10 folders and the first folder I open that and the RSS feed is there with around 100 news stories in the news column. When i open each one there is another folder with the name of the RSS feed. What I ended up with is those half dozen folders. They are seperated into about half dozen different folders. Was there a recent update in Youtube that broke things in QuiteRSS? Is is something with recent update in QuiteRSS? I haven't changed anything on my PC lately. But it couldn't be those things, because my regular RSS feeds for webpages are still updating? And So, I'm at a loss right now. I checked all of those things and I get the same results in QuoteRSS. My first thing to think was to check my internet connection, or my VPN, or my firewall. I get error "error transfering." I'm using the URL format that I copied from the Youtube subs export as a template when adding new feed into QuiteRSS: I also can't add any new Youtube RSS feeds either. ![]() That doesn't fix the problem as you can see here:Īnd a sample of the Properties from one of the imported Youtube feeds: I tried importing my RSS feeds from a fresh XML file via Youtube's subscribtion manager export. There is also a little red X in bottom left corner for all of my Youtube feeds now, labeled with YT at the end as you can see in this image: Actually, now as I make this post I have also noticed that the youtube favicons are now all completely gone. ![]() ![]() ![]() I also noticed that the feed favicon for Youtube is gone and just shows the generic RSS favicon, except for the ones that I was re-arranging earlier in the day, they have somehow kept their favicon. I looked through all the feeds and noticed that I never got any update after April 29. All my other RSS feeds for webpages work though. Then later today I noticed that the videos would not load anymore and that I had to load the link via the right click -> load in external browser function, which brings up the video in my default web browser.īut now I'm seeing that my Youtube feeds aren't updating at all. Then it went downhill from there, like a domino effect.Īt first the videos would load inside QuiteRSS. I was rearranging some feeds into new folders and clicking on some youtube feeds to see what new videos I could watch. I loaded up QuiteRSS today after not using it for a while and everything seemed fine at first.
